Team Santa Dash – This Sunday!!

December 8, 2011

Halton’s first ever Santa Dash, organised by local charity Halton Haven Hospice are asking you – the community of Halton to come together and join the team to make the inaugural event something to be proud of.

This Sunday 11th December 2011 will see hundreds of residents dressed in Santa outfits taking part in a 5k fun run through Widnes and Runcorn in aid of Halton Haven Hospice.

The Santa Dash entry fee is £20 for adults and only £10 for 9 to 15 year olds making this a family event. Registration cost includes Santa suit and a medal upon completion.

If you have not already registered – entry desks will be open on the morning of the event at 7.30am at Spike Island Visitor Centre.

The Dash will begin at 9am prompt.

The Runcorn and Widnes Jubilee Bridge will be closed for 20 mins in order to allow the group of Santa’s to run across the centre of the bridge in celebration of the Bridges 50th Anniversary.

Ciaran Clotworthy, Events Manager at Halton Haven Hospice, said “This is a really exciting event to be organising. Joining forces with the council is great and they’ve been so supportive in allowing us to close the bridge whilst the Santa’s run. This will be such an iconic event, one that’s never been done before in the area. We know we have competition with Liverpool, Chester and Warrington, but we’re asking for the support from our local community to get involved with this event. They never let us down.”

If you are already registered here are the details:
