Easter Raffle Raises Funds for Hospice

April 26, 2012

Girl Guides Grace Bamber and Abbie Fisher chose Halton Haven Hospice as their charity to raise funds for at Easter time.

Grace, aged 11 from Pewithall School and Abbie, aged 10 from Daresbury Primary School together raised £30 in their Easter Raffle with 6 Easter eggs as prizes.  They independantly chose the hospice as they were aware of the vital funds needed to keep it open. As Girl Guides they wanted to use this opportunity to work towards their Community Badges.

When they arrived at the Hospice, Grace and Abbie were given a special tour to see how the money they raised would be put to good use. They also met some of the nursing staff on duty that day.

Ciaran Clotworthy, Events Manager at Halton Haven Hospice said ‘We would like to say a huge thank you to Grace and Abbie for choosing to raise funds for the hospice at their Easter Raffle. It’s great to see younger members of the Halton Community wanting to make a difference and help us continue our special kind of caring. Thank you girls!
